I am humbled by God and grateful to have received official citations from the United States Senate and the Senate of Maryland. In 2019, I was the first woman to receive the prestigious Malcom X Hero Award from the Caucus of African American Leaders, was nominated for the 2019 TWIN Award and selected as a Trailblazer in the area of eliminating racism and empowering women by the YWCA. For Kathy’s Sake/ C.A.S.T. were selected as the 2019 Business of The Year and in early 2020 I received the George Phelps Jr. Distinguished Citizen Award for my contributions to the citizens of AAC County, especially its youth, and from the County Executive I received the Michele Obama Citation from Her Story Award. In 2021 I received the prestigious Fannie Lou Hammer Award. In 2022, the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland presented me a Maryland General Assembly Official Citation signed by Senator Jill Carter that described me as having made invaluable contributions toward police reform and "tireless advocacy for improved public safety for all Marylanders".

The YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County announced 2019 Tribute to Women & Industry (TWIN) Award Honorees. "This signature event, ..is the only awards event of its kind in the county and recognizes the exceptional vision, contributions, and accomplishments of women in both the workplace and community.."
. The YWCA has honored over 900 women since the program’s inception in 1985.

The Michelle Obama and Her Story Award Citations
Received multiple Executive Citations from Anne Arundel County, including the "Her-Story" Award. This award along with the Michelle Obama Citation, are awarded by the Office of County Executive Steuart Pittman, in partnership with the Caucus of African American Leaders. They honor women who have had tremendous impact in Anne Arundel County and who serve as role models "for women and advocates for poverty awareness, education, nutrition, health and wellness" .
